Barry's Blog 18 February 2024

Hello all.

My first Blog for some time heralds the start to the season.

Yes, weather permitting, we may be bowling within weeks.  The green is looking good but obviously some sun/dry weather would help.

Our new scratching shed is up, painted, electricity installed, with just a few odd jobs to complete.

The weekly maintenance rota is now organised by Dave Robinson.  Its encouraging to note that two ladies have joined the team but disappointing that male members are not coming forward.  Come on guys, we need your help!

A special thank you must go to John Mais for trimming, controlling and tidying the leylandii. To wield the hedge trimmer at such a height is no easy feat.  Thanks John.

Don't forget our pre season meeting on

11 March, 7.30 St Mary's. Subscriptions this year are £60 and become due from this date and should be paid via bank transfer.

Be sure to put your name in the reference block.

Please give serious thought to how you might make a difference to our club.  The position of Secretary needs filling by the end of the year.  Geoff will work alongside you to help ease you into the post.

Our social media enthusiast is still needed.  Someone who is happy to post regular messages, updates, events etc to bring our club to the attention of would be members.  I'd be delighted to hear from you!

I think that's all for now

See you on the green before too long

Regards

Barry
