Hello Everyone,
Me again. As the season draws to a close I hope you have enjoyed your time on the green(s).
Your committee is aware of the flexibility many have shown in ensuring full teams have competed each week. We thank you for often playing in teams and/or leagues which have taken you out of your comfort zone and indeed resulted in you not playing as much social bowling as you may have wished.
A similar thank you goes to the Captains who have worked tirelessly to ensure teams did not get fined by being incomplete.
In order to make up for the lack of social bowling we have extended the season until 13 October.
You will be aware that a fun day is planned for this coming Sunday (6th). In the past such days have been well supported. Sad to say that at the time of writing we only have a dozen names on the list. It is due to start at 10am prompt, if you can't get down to the club Geoff's email earlier today offered a call to him to book your place. I really hope you can make it!
Whilst on social dates don't forget the Presentation Lunch on Sunday 3 November. Details and menu are again on the notice board at the club. There is still available space. Come and enjoy a pleasant luncheon with like minded members. See you there!!
On a different theme I'd like to thank Trevor and Billy for grabbing hold of the reins during Richard's convalescence. The maintenance team have again done some sterling work throughout the year, a big round of applause goes to them. I will break from tradition and name one person - John Mais - who gets up ladders wielding a large hedge trimmer to keep growth under control. Good for you John.
Well that's all for now folks. Hoping to see you on Sunday and the 3rd November, also the 5th December for the Quiz.
Regards
Barry
Thought of the day. A closed mind is a good thing to lose
