Privacy Statement

Boston Spa Bowling Club (BSBC) is bound by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into force in the UK on 25 May 2018, and extends existing Data Protection legislation. This statement sets out what personal data the BSBC may hold about individual members and how that information will be stored and used.

When you join BSBC, we will record your name, postal address and telephone number, your email address and possibly an emergency of a guardian/spouse in case one may be necessary.

We will use the information you supply to manage your membership, including sending you communications, updates, news and the chairman’s blog. We will store your personal information securely and will not share it with third parties. If you decide to terminate your membership, we will cease contact with you; however records of members are kept for six years to comply with financial regulations. Membership may also be terminated if you fail to respond to subscription renewal notices within three months from 1st March each year. The same six year rule will apply.

If at any time you wish to know what information we hold about you, update your details or change your communication preferences, please contact the Club Secretary, by emailing bsbchonsec@gmail.com .

If you have any queries about the data we hold or how it is being stored or used, please contact the Club Secretary as above. If you have any concerns or feel that there may be a problem about the way we hold your information, we hope you will approach us first so that we can sort it out. Under the GDPR, individuals may ultimately complain to the Office of the Information Commissioner if they think there is a problem with the way BSBC is storing or using their data.

We may modify this statement. If this happens, members will be notified via the Chairman’s Blog or an entry on the website.
