Vets Open Competition 2022.
Following our Boston Spa Vets Open Pairs Competition – The club wanted to say a great big THANK YOU to all the competitors. Without you we would not have a competition. I do hope you all enjoyed your day and I’m sorry we couldn’t do anything about the rain early doors – but at least the sunshine did make an appearance.
After a hard fought first round robin, the semi-finalist then played their games to get through to the final.
The final was contested between Hazel Parker / John Jennison of Bilton Dragons and Ron Willett/ Ray Brown of Garforth Rec. For those of you who had to leave early you missed a treat of a final. It was an amazing game where we were faced with a cliff-hanger of 14 across – all down to the last end!
Congratulations go to Hazel and John who won the winning point.
Congratulations also to Joan Forbes who was the competitors’ winner of our spot prize – she took home a bottle of wine.

Also a big thank you to all the volunteers from the club who made the event run smoothly, from the ladies in the kitchen, to the set-up team, the greens team, Scorers and various helpers on the day, too many to mention by name. Everybody knows who you were.
